"'Well, now we have seen eachother,' said the unicorn, 'if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?'"

Is the unicorn a myth, or reality? Well-known people from Greek phisician Ctesias to modern day Barnum and Bailey have asked and debated that question. The unicorn is probably one of the most mysterious animals in the world today and has been for many, many years. This wonderful creature has been glorified in stories, songs, folk tales, poems, and fabels for centuries and even today it remains one of the the most marvelous unsolved mysteries of the whole world. Despite the widely held belief in its existence,  it has not been seen for several centuries and the popular Eastern image from Chinese folklore is much different from the familiar Western image of a pure, white horse-looking creature which makes it even more hard to track down. The only consistent fact in all the tales, stories, poems, and such is that the unicorn has a single horn pertruding from its forehead.

For true unicorn believers,  the fact that it "no longer exists"  adds only to the mystique, which places this mysterious creature in the same realm as other rumored creatures such as dinosaurs, mammoths, Bigfoot, and Nessie. Others believe that unicorns still exist in remote regions of the world and can only be discovered by those of exceptional virtue and honesty.
